Established in 2000 Thondaman vocational training centre in Hatton is a registered institution with the tertiary & Vocational Education Commission of SriLanka (TVEC) under Reg.No.P11/0034. It is one of the reputed vocational training centres in the country and conducting 19 different courses in various sectors. This is the only training centre out of North and East conducting various courses in Tamil mediam mainly catering to the youth of plantation workers. All of its courses are accredited for National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) by the TVEC.
In addition, considering the demand for foreign languages amoung the youth who seek employment aborad, recently it started part time courses in Japanese and Korean languages. Moreover, there are plantation to introduce more courses I foreign languages making TVTC ( Thondaman Vocational Training Centre) as a hub for language studies.
