Strong concept with clear vision was established in early months of 2007 to set up a unique place for mentally retarded children.
Ideas were taken down and given soul to establish a tangible place in May 2007
A portion of founder’s house was occupied to serve the very first batch with five mentally retarded children. They were coached by two dedicated teachers.
Started to develop networks and awareness among various audience
Became legal entity and obtained certificate of registration from Kalmunai Divisional Secretariat (Registration Number: KM/DS/VSSO/2008/74)
Obtained national charity organization status through the registration from National Secretariat for Person with Disability, Ministry of Social Services. (Registration Number: MSS/T/NSPD/R/141)
Registration with Department of Social Services, Eastern Province. (Registration Number: EP/DSS/DH/03)
A portion of the building belongs to the Department of Health where the Department’s Maternity Health Clinic functions was given to Human Link operations.
Obtained a two story permanent building from Department of Social Services, Eastern Province
Accomplished and celebrated a decade of services by voicing for the rights of persons with disabilities.
Resource Centre had its functions in a spacious rented place located in Rest House Road, Kalmunai, which is now converted to Human Link – Vocational Training Center [HL-VTC].
Human Link Resource Centre [HL –RC] has been functioning in temporary shelters erected in the one-acre land in Mettuwattai, Maruthamunai-03 which was given by the Government.
Establishment of Human Link – Health Care Center [HL- HCC] in its unique building situated in Kariyappar Road, Maruthamunai 5.
