The Centre for Handicapped is a facility which provides prosthetic and orthotic devices and rehabilitation services to physically handicapped people from all over the island enabling them to live full and productive lives. Our services are free of charge and we extend a helping hand to everyone who comes to the Centre irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity, caste and class,or gender. Our services include awareness raising and basic business education sessions for recipients and their families to help them improve their livelihoods as well as health camps and water and sanitation projects for near-by communities. Around twenty poor children receive annual scholarships that supplement the country’s free education system and pay mainly for transport and equipment not covered by the state.
